Sanse nama: be careful!

Many of the plants in the Indonesian and Thai collections are renamed plants.
The amateur vanity picture books out there are full of errors and pictures of plants that are misidentified. They are obviously renamed plants. I wince ever time I see a new one come out. Its getting ridiculous and increasingly worse. It is impossible for you to "strive painstakingly to get the correct names of the plants" when most of the original publications are not accessible to you and most of the relevant information is still unpublished. So where on earth would you be getting the correct info? It has taken me years to round up all the original information in various libraries, sometimes with the help of other researchers.
